Hi everyone   I’m sharing some exciting news today. I have been on Litfulo for just over 5 weeks and not only have I got hair growth I HAVE EYELASHES!! Only people with alopecia will appreciate how exciting this is. Managed to find an old mascara (not used any since 2019) as I wanted it to show in the pictures as without it’s hard to see. They are not long and I have very little on the bottom but OMG I cannot believe it.  Dare to dream xxxx

Litfulo and eczema

Image
My eczema has been really bad for years. At my last appointment my dermatologist was considering going on Bilogics for my skin as it needed constant antibiotics and steroid to stop the flares. Anyway since starting Litfulo my skin has been amazing. This could be a coincidence or because I am taking a new berry supplement but who knows. I’ll keep you all posted xxxx

Devastation part 2

This is another raw emotional post and even writing this I am in tears.   From the day I became “officially bald” I went into a cycle of self hatred. To the world I was a proud bald woman but inside I hated everything about me.  I was worthless, ugly and unwanted I hated myself so why should anyone feel differently about me. I hit self destruct mode a place I admit I am still in. I hated myself and was not worthy of love from anyone I started to push away everyone close to me and to this day I still do this. Why would anyone like me when I hate myself.  By pushing people away I was confirming how awful I was and how, I was totally unlovable. This began a cycle of self harm. I needed to be punished as by pushing people away it just furthered my belief that I was truly no one and nothing to anyone.  The facade I put up was exhausting but I could not show weakness I could not share how I truly felt as I didn’t matter I was a nobody. How many people I have lost I c...

This is the NHS paper written about my case

Not sure if you can read the text properly so copied the information below  Seasonal relapse of alopecia areata: a model for environmental triggering Gordon Hale 1 , Kid Wan Shum 2 , Andrew Messenger 1 1 Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield, UK 2 Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Derby, UK Case Report  A 41-year-old nurse presented with a 15-year-history of annual recurrence of alopecia areata occurring in a seasonal pattern. At the beginning of August each year she would develop patches of alopecia on the scalp, increasing in size until the end of December. Her hair would begin to re-grow in the following spring, only for the cycle to repeat itself at the beginning of August each year.  The degree of annual hair loss has progressed and the patient now develops alopecia totalis each year by mid-winter followed by total hair re-growth which would begin the following spring. She reports a personal history of seasona...

Devastation

Image
So this is going to be an emotional post but feel it needs to be shared. In 2004 I lost a patch of hair no reason just happened this was in August. Then in March the following year it grew back again, no triggers or anything.   I lives like this for years hair coming out in August and then growing back in March.  I had my first appointment with dermatology and was told it’s probably stress at least it grows back. I would like to point out that my dad passed suddenly in March that year and it had already started to grow back. Needless to say that put me off seeking help for years. Every year the patches got bigger and bigger but as my hair was so long I was able to cover it.  Went to various people and paid a fortune trying to find “the cure” all it did was waste money. I went to see an amazing professor in Sheffield and he was fascinated by the way it would shred and grow and he did a paper on it and referred me to a local dermatologist who he had trained. In 2012 ...
